  Fit Explorer Project
Fit Explorer Project
Inspire the nation's future explorers by joining NASA and the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports in a variety of physical and hands-on activities to encourage student's to train like an astronaut!
+ Learn more

  Fit Explorer Project
Sports and Exploration Project
The NASA Sports and Exploration pilot project unites the excitement of both sports and exploration to encourage students to explore and learn STEM using hands-on, inquiry-based investigations.

SciFiles The Case of the Physical Fitness Challenge
SciFiles "The Case of the Physical Fitness Challenge"
This video with educational resources finds the tree house detectives eager to win the Presidential Physical Fitness Award, but one of the detectives is not quite up to the challenge. They decide that it is time for a little research to learn more about being fit. They visit NASA to learn more about muscles, bones, and physical activity and why fitness is the key to space exploration.
- Program details coming soon

SciFiles The Case of the Great Space Exploration
SciFiles "The Case of the Great Space Exploration "
New discoveries by NASA and a new vision for space exploration create an excitement in the tree house as the detectives set off to learn what it will take to become a space explorer. View the video to see the kids head to Space Camp and NASA to find out if they truly have the “right stuff.” Additional resources included.
- Program details coming soon

Middle School Level Projects

  Exploring Space Through Algebra Project
Exploring Space Through Algebra Project
Applications in Algebra 1: Engage and educate mathematics students with challenging supplemental problems to help develop a deeper understanding of key Mathematics concepts and how to apply those concepts in the context of space exploration.

NASAConnect Better Health from Space to Earth
NASAConnect™ "Better Health from Space to Earth "
In this video, students will learn about the importance of good nutrition and exercise. They will investigate what we can learn in space about our bodies here on Earth. Students will also see how researchers and scientists apply the mathematics concepts of measurement and estimation to study the loss of calcium in bones and the loss of muscle mass while astronauts are living and working in space. Additional resources included.
- Program details coming soon

NASAConnect Good Stress: Building Better Muscles and Bones
NASAConnect™ "Good Stress: Building Better Muscles and Bones "
In this video, students will learn about the importance of building and maintaining better muscles and bones. They will learn that all stresses in life are not “bad.” In fact, the body needs “good” stresses like exercise, to be healthy. Students will also see how scientists and researchers collect and analyze physiological data to understand how muscle and bones are constantly changing, especially in a microgravity environment. Additional resources included.
- Program details coming soon

NASAConnect The Right Ration of Rest: Proportional Reasoning
NASAConnect™ "The Right Ratio of Rest: Proportional Reasoning"
Why is sleep so critical to good health?Students will learn about circadian rhythms, how they affect their daily lives, and why NASA is studying them. Using hands-on lessons and web-based activities, students will develop proportional reasoning skills and understand how fractions, decimals, and percentages are related.
- Program details coming soon

High School Level Projects

  Space Exploration AP Project
Math and Science @ Work Project
This advance high school project will provide challenging supplemental problems for students preparing for the AP Exam, based on space exploration topics. By placing students in the roles of NASA scientists, engineers, and researchers, they can learn critical thinking and problem-solving skills while exposing them to careers working in space exploration.
